Open an incognito window and search your business name, then your service plus your city. What appears on that first page is your real storefront — and most owners have never looked at it the way a stranger does.
Score these 15 points
Your Google profile: correct hours, real photos newer than a year, rating above 4.2, a response to every recent review, posts within the last month. Your website: loads fast on mobile, states what you do and where in the first screen, click-to-call works, has a page per service.
The rest of page one: your social profiles look active, directory listings show matching contact info, no third-party site outranks you for your own name, and nothing negative appears that you've never addressed.
What your score means
Twelve or more: maintain and build. Eight to eleven: you're losing a meaningful slice of customers at the comparison stage. Under eight: your online presence is actively working against you, and fixing it is likely the highest-ROI move available to your business.
